About

Rebecca is a self taught singer-songwriter-producer from Bath, UK.  She started writing and producing songs and music aged 12 using GarageBand before moving to LogicPro, and more recently Pro Tools and Pyramix.  She is classically trained in piano, oboe and voice and is currently studying music and sound recording (Tonmeister) at university.  Here she is developing her skills as an audio-engineer along with rigorous musical study in composition, harmony and audio-acoustics.  She has experience of running both classical and pop sessions in the studio and on location. During a year in industry Rebecca worked in TV sound and broadcast with Ben Holland Sound where she developed skills supporting large studio shows, in the dubbing studio and location recording using PSC kit.   Most recently Rebecca has focussed on composing for TV and films reaching the semifinals of the Indie Music Film Contest in winter 2025 with her soundtrack for the short film ‘Walter’.

Initially intending to pursue a career in medicine, she is indebted to a group of passionate professional musicians working locally who recognised her talent, and supported her musical journey.  These include primarily Dan Neale, an independent musician, percussionist and drummer, but also Paul Williams, and Real World Studios in Box.  With these advocates championing her, Rebecca released her debut EP 'Lost Myself Again' in 2024 under the pseudonym Riva Nova.  This EP includes a small selection of her early songs written about young love and friendship.
